Sony VGN-T140P & Fedora 7

This was one of the easiest Fedora installs I’ve ever done. Everything except sound was usable out of the box, and the sound issue was resolved in a matter of minutes. To fix the sound, go to System –> Preferences –> Personal –> Volume Control. In the Volume Control window, click on Edit, then Preferences. Check Headphone Jack Sense.

I used 915resolution (yum -y install 915resolution) to enable wxga resolution.
