It’s no secret that I’m not a huge fan of Ubuntu. However, I do install each new release in a virtual machine; just to see if there’s anything I like.
Believe it or not, there’s a feature in 7.10 that I absolutely love. After installing vmware-tools, I wanted to run htop to check system resources of the VM. I guess I’m just used to it being there although it’s not usually installed by default on any distro I’m aware of.
So, when I entered htop at the command prompt, instead of a simple “command not found” error, I got a message telling me how to install it. That really butters my biscuits!

I have a feeling this was also in the previous version of Ubuntu. I may be wrong.
You’re right. It is in 7.04 too. I never noticed it before.
Hi James,
Actually this feature first appeared in Feisty… This is one of ones I like Ubuntu for much more than other distros
